This pattern is killing me!

I’ve put so much work into this xmas stocking, I’m not willing to give up. If someone can help me, I would so appreciate it. This is the point I’m at…Change to circular needle. Next Row(ws) K4, place these 4 sts on a holder, K to end. Next (joining) rnd (K 1 st from needle tog with 1 st from holder) twice, pm, (K1 st from needle tog with 1 st from holder) twice, K to end. I can’t figure out how to do this. Someone please help.

I think the easiest way to do this is prolly place those sts on a seprate cable needle if you have an extra…this way you won’t be struggling with those sts when you go to knit them…They want you to then to knit one stitch from your normal circ needle together with one sts from the holder so you will be doing a k2tog…do this twice so you should have 2 sts on your normal circ needle and 2 sts left on your holder…then place a stitch marker, then repeat and this should take the last 2sts from the holder leaving just an empty holding needle…then knit to the end…

I hope this helps I’m not the best at explaning what I mean :oo:

I agree with putting it on a cable needle. The stich holders make more sense when you have it on there longer, but you won’t. I’d use a calbe needle too.

Also it might be easier if you slip the one from the needle purl wise onto your left needle, the slip one from your calbe needle purl wise (both purl wise so you don’t twist them) and the slip the first stitch back and K2Ttog. Does that make sense?

Thank you for your help, but I figured it out…finally!

Yeah!!! Isn’t it great when the ‘light bulb’ goes on?
