This is what happens when people find out you knit

soooo i received an interoffice phone call from a co-worker of mine who said that a “little birdy” told her that i was into knitting. she proceeded to explain that her dad? step mom? someone had a bunch of yarn that they were going to sell at a yard sale but she would rather just sell it to me. i said, “sure! how much would they want for everything?” she said 20 bucks. this is what 20 bucks bought me…

i’ve never seen so much acrylic in my life!!! it’s a lot of walmart kinda cheapy yarn but theres a lot of it and a lot of the same colors soooo i’m sure i will find use for it. as you can see, jack woke up to being surrounded by yarn, but he didn’t mind too much.

Wow

:inlove:ohh my, i’m drooling now:teehee:

WOW … what a nice coworker

ur so lucky.

Oh wow…great deal!

Ha ha! I see quite a few Red Heart labels in that little stash there!

look at it this way:

you can always use it to do squares for warm up america, hats for the homeless, baby blankets…

I gotta get more stash…

That Teal is just to die for!! :muah:

Oh I am so drooling right now. What I could do with that yarn. And for $20 too! You are one lucky knitter… care to adopt me?

Wow. Just, wow.

Wow! That was so nice of your co-worker. And there’s lots of uses for acrylic! You can make charity items, like LilHuskiesFootBallMom said, baby items, pet items, and lots of men don’t seem to like wool. At least none of the men in my life! :teehee:

Red Heart actually softens up after you’ve washed it a few times, and there’s plenty of afghans or baby blankets in that pile!

:flirt:
Ooooh…Insta-Stash!

Hey Red Heart is great for afghans/blankets. Easy care, sturdy and gets softer the more you wash it. And if there’s any Caron Simply Soft (or something similar in there) you can make plenty of garments. It’s sooo much softer than many of the wools I’ve used and you can throw it in the wash!

(If you can’t tell I just started my very first SS project recently:teehee: I can’t believe I’ve never knit with it before! I’m gonna end up with a super comfy $5 hoodie!)

Wow, lucky you! Ditto on the charity stuff. Wool makes my hubby break out, so would need acrylic for him.

Wow that’s great. I have a red heart acrylic yarn afghan that was a gift that is 35 years old. I have washed it many times and the only damage is the fringe is not as sharp as it was.

Holy Moly–what a haul!

Oh…My…Gah!!! :thud:

Beautiful!

Stacy

yeah, i’m sure i’ll find use for it all…eventually! if not, i can always donate it to people for making baby stuff for hospitals and what not. i already started making a scarf from the stash for my co-worker that sold it to me! i figure i’ll share the love.

I thought of Knitty’s “Hallowig” when I saw that bright pink yarn! :teehee:
