This is the last try with DPN'S

Hi everyone…finally mastered DPN’S :cheering: or I thought :!!!: doing a slipper, start out on straights (stock st) then swith to 3 DPN’s, :x: along for 12 rws, guess what, inside out :grrr: can not turn inside out…only thing I did realize along the way is that 8 sts first needle, 6 sts second needle and 8 sts on third needle…somehow I ended up with 9 sts on a needle and 5 on another??? What the :tap: did I do wrong???

You can turn the whole thing right side out when you’re done.

I suspect that you inadvertently knit from one of the 3 needles to the other out of habit. No biggie.

Nope Ingrid, the first part of the slipper has v’s on the right side (working on straights)…then when I transfered to DPN’S and completed another 12rws with DPN’S the ‘bumps’ are on the right side too :!!!: the toe of the slipper is purls for 12 rws and the foot part is knits…so, can’t turn it inside out :hair: :hair: how did I knit in the round inside out :frog: Thanks for your time :notworthy:

:pout: I see.

When you hold your needles, the two that you’re working with should be closest to you, and the others away from you.

The center picture here shows how you should be holding them.

I suspect that you’re holding them away from you and knitting on the inside of the tube.

If you hold your yarn and needles like this you’ll end up knitting inside out:

If you hold them like this, you’ll be knitting right side out:

The problem very most likely happened when you did the join. You joined with the needles away from you instead of right up to you. I’ve done this before and had a hard time figuring out what I did wrong.

Don’t give up on the DPNs. They are so handy!!

Thank you, Ingrid…auburnchick and especially yarnlady :muah: for the pics…Yep, that’s certainly what I did :verysad: held the needles away from me…I can’t for the life of me :gah: figure out how that makes a difference!!! Guess I’ll keep trying :frog: :muah:
