Hi,

I’m new to this - just started knitting when I found out my friend is expecting twins. I’m trying to knit booties, but I keep getting stuck when the pattern says I need to add extra stitches.

I’ve been knitting, binding off various sections without a problem, but when I’m supposed to cast on additional stitches to a row I get stuck.

The bit I don’t understand is that I only have the one, unknitted string to cast on with, rather than casting on at the start where you have a string either side of the needle.

Could somebody PLEASE explain how to do this.

i would say go here and try either the single cast on or the Knitting on cast on. one should work well for you! :thumbsup:

Thanks so much for that!

I was trying to use the Single Cast-On method, but kept getting big loops between stitches.

I’ve figured out Knitting On and it’s solved the problem!
