Things I am working on

I have been working on some 2 needle mittens for 2 girls that come through my crossing. The older sister wanted red mittens and the little sister wanted light blue. Then I will be working on a string market bag for my daughter and 3 more of them. She will be using them as Christmas gifts for her coworkers. Then I have a shawl to be knitted for my daughter-in-law as her Christmas gift.

Nice work … I love market bags!

Great work!

Nice one!

WOW, you’re plenty busy.

That bag is really, really nice.

I’m assuming you’re a school crossing guard. How nice of you to look out for the kiddies you see each day.
I always made my kids’ mittens on 2 needles (DPNs slowed me down) using garter stitch for extra warmth, making the thumb with the same needle at the ribbing.

Pretty colors in the market bag! Great job! Sounds like you have quite a list going.

Yes I am a school crossing guard. I have been doing it for almost 20 years now. My crossing is at the elementary school that is behind my house. I do not drive to get there. I walk maybe 50 yards to it.

you are doing really nice things and a lot of them at the same time.
Question of mine: Do you ever work for yourself? Or is every project dedicated to someone around you? That is very nice of you - and maybe that is the right thing for you. I just find, that generous knitters shall be reminded at times that they should think of themselves in between.

Those girls will be sooo proud to wear those mittens! In desired colors even.

I get my reward in their smiles and hugs. I do knit some things for my self every once in a while.

well, have them write letters to the church about sainthood!
I do a lot of my knitting for other people and give it away. But I do not (mostly) make them things for THEM to give away. Those people shure are lucky - and as long as they cherrish the gifts… well done!
