Thimble pads

Just discovered these little helpers at Annie’s Attic. Seems to be just what I need for using my boye needlemaster set. They’re little round disks that come in packs of twelve for $1.99…never saw them before in local craft stores.

Still wish Susan Bates would come out with an interchangeable set. I switched from boye to Susan Bates last night and the difference was fantastic. Knitting was much faster and smoother. I can’t believe the Addi turbo’s have anything over Susan Bates. Another thing I like about Susan Bates circulars is that the needle size is embossed/engraved on the needle.

With the size of the needle being engraved into the needle, doesn’t it snag your yarn??

And Susan Bates is a good company. I love there crochet hooks :happydance:

No snagging. You have to hold the needle just right in good light to see it. It only shows the metric size.

Ahh that’s good to hear!! i have plastic needles, hopefully I’ll be getting more plastic circ’s today

Haven’t received my Thimble pads yet, but came across a package of these Thimble-It pads at Michael’s. They work really well. They come in a package 64 and are reuseable. Had to use one with my Susan Bates circular needles for a project totally in the round. The 1st few rounds after casting on require that you work the points of the needles from the yarn with your fingers. Apparently the more rounds you get from the cast-on round, it gets easier and requires less use of your fingers to slide the needles from the yarn. Anyway, if you don’t have a Michael’s nearby, here’s the web site where you can purchase them online:

They should make using my NeedleMaster set less painful.

the only Susan Bates needles i have ever bought was a set of plastic ones and i swore she would never see my needle money again! the addis have the metric size on the cords

Yeah they do have it on the cord. I’ve used mine since saturday and it’s almost all rubbed off.

I only have used the Susan Bates Silvalume and I LOVE them. Addi’s can’t be much better.
