Ok, so here it is. Despite wanting to do something a little more exciting (and not endless rows of stockinette that make me want to throw myself off the top of my house at times), I was entranced by this pattern.
I plan to do the dress for my little girl, Miriam. She’s been the beneficiary of most of my handknit items, including longies, socks and a hat, but here’s something even fancier!
How do you all like Dale of Norway patterns? Clear? Tough? A suicide mission in the making? The instructions didn’t seem so horrible, but you never know. I could just be wildly naive.

I have to admit that I have ever knitted a Dalepattern, I prefer Sandnespratterns, so I cant tell you anything about the pattern. But I love the Daleyarn, soft, nice colours… beautiful yarn to knit!

That’s exactly the dress I posted on my blog a few months ago in my “to do” list for my granddaughter! I have bought the pattern, but not the yarn. I told my husband I needed to try out this smaller pattern before I attempted the Dale of Norway sweater he likes.
I haven’t used Dale of Norway patterns yet, but those I talked to who have used them seemed satisfied with them.
Oh, that is adorable! I wanted to make that same dress for my niece’s daughter but I gave up because I thought it would be way too much work with that needle size and all.

That’s stunning! The Dale patterns remind me of the Patricia Kristofferson doilies in crocheting… it’s like a status symbol if you can complete one and remain relatively sane!
I thought that, too, though if you look at the dress and break down its’ elements, it’s really just a ton of stockinette on a circular needle. Once you look at the individual parts, it’s not so bad.
I can’t wait to see how it turns out for you!
