If deducting stitches of 2-5-1
How many stitches should be deducted?
Totally deducting 5 stitches?
Or every two rows deducting 5 stitches=totally deducting 10 stitches?
So confusing…
The meaning of 2-5-1
Welcome to the forum!
What is the name of your pattern?
If you think it will help you can quote part of the section this appears in. Don’t give us a large portion of the pattern please due to designer copyright.
If this is a Japanese pattern it means to bind off 5sts every 2 rows once. It would be a decrease of 10sts. But maybe this is a pattern from another country?
Thanks for answering my question.
In fact the pattern is the vest cuff position.
When I start to knit this position, the instruction
shows deducting stitches 2-5-1, and then 2-2-2 and 2-1-2. I understand last two “formula” but confusing the first one.
And is it a Japanese pattern? I’ve seen different assignments for these x-y-z designations in different sources.
I see this pattern from the website of China
Ah, perhaps the same kind of notation. See if the decrease of 10sts makes sense with the stitch numbers.
