The case of the exploding knitting needle ... odd story

Check this out. I just happened to come across this online. Kinda scary althought I’m not sure if it is supposed to be a joke.

I heard about that last year, I had forgotten.

Yeah, I think of it whenever I knit with my US13 Addis. :roflhard:

I heard about this on MSNBCs ‘oddball news’ back when it first happened. Apparently it’s true.

I found the reference to the knitters review thread that was in that article you posted quite amusing though.

Sure looks like an Addi Turbo…they are hollow like the one in the photo.

Wow…

Makes me glad I use bamboo!

:roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard:

No chance of your knitting so fast they catch fire?

This story has not been disproven by SNOPES yet and the mythbusters don’t want to touch it. I don’t know what to think. I’m always a skeptic though.

Oh, I wish the Mythbusters would get involved!

Funny. I posted this when I first joined KH and some of you guys told me it was fake, if I remember correctly.

:roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard:

I can see it now. As my husband tries to douse the flames, I’m yelling, “don’t worry about me…save the knitting!!!”

:roflhard:

:roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard:

I’m surprised the Mythbusters don’t want to touch it - there’s potential 'splosions! I thought they loved anything that involved blowing stuff up! :roflhard:

I know! It’s their thing! Maybe knitting needles won’t give them the kind of explosion they crave–you know, the big boom!
