Thanks Amy -- Look What I Learned Tonight

I have been hankering to learn something new, so I watched Amy’s video. A big thank you to Amy. It really helped. They only thing that confused me was what to k and what to p on the different rows.

Again, kuddos Amy. I can’t wait to find something cabley to knit.

Wow that looks fabulous! :thumbsup:

[color=darkred]Nicely done! Fun, wasn’t it?

When I first learned to knit, I knit a sample of every cable on the pages Sears gave away with yarn purchases. I still have the very long, skinny work.
(Yes, I did say Sears. They had wonderful yarns…more than 40 years ago. :doh:

Cables are soooo much fun…

Is that a 6 stitch hold in front (C6F)

I was horrified (just about as much of DPNS) of cables… till I did them… and then I Was like… WTF?? what was I afraid of… I love cables now…

Awesome job! I want to learn to do cables… just haven’t gotten the curage up yet. :blush:

Christine, I must say that you have done an EXCEPTIONAL job :cheering: :happydance: :cheering: WTG!!

Your cables look great! :thumbsup: I’ve just learned to do them too and couldn’t believe how easy they were. I was so proud of myself and you should be too! :happydance:

I still had questions about it all after watching the video over and over. I got how you just took some of the stiches and put them either in the front or back, but how do you get to that point.

I did an internet search and found this web site. I really liked how it gave row by row explainations.

To night I’m going to try and do a different cable swatch.

What type of cable holders do you use? I tried a hook cable thing. It bugged me. So I ended up using a tip from my needlemaster. I didn’t like that it wasn’t pointed on both sides. I went to the LYS and they had ones with a dip, but since I’m banned (my husband’s command) from buying any more knitting stuff for a bit. I didn’t get them, yet.
