Terminology question

Hi,

Just took up knitting again after a 49 year layoff! I have a question - I’m following a Patons sock pattern using 3 needles, and have finished the main leg section, complete with whiz-bang cabling etc. Now comes the heel  it requires me to “Pat 12 sts off 1st needle onto 3rd needle” which "pattern do I follow? The leg portion had a repeating P1 K4 P1 K1 P1 K4 on the first needle. For each round repeated 6 rounds, followed by a round of cabling, followed by a round of the previous stich pattern I mentioned.

So is the P1 K4 P1 K1 P1 K4 the pattern I follow since it was last stitch combo for needle 1??

Confused with this creeping senility. Any help appreciated !

Thanks

Steve

Welcome Steve! Yes, that’s right, follow the pattern that you have been doing on needle 1. You’re just moving sts around to make the heel easier to work. The cable pattern rows should continue.
