My bf’s vacation continues. three weeks. It has been wonderful. : )
The apartment is settling into our life. It still feels like a dorm or a hotel room. lol
I am working on a poncho for myself. It is from the lion’s brand wool ease. I love how it feels.
I’m also rereading The Witching Hour. I can fall into Anne Rice’s books any day. lol
Not a lot to say right now. Tomi(my best female friend) who is also an education major has decided not to teach. It seems everyone in my major is getting freaked out about it the closer we get. more on this later when I don’t have company coming over. lol
wow, it’s been a long time. for three weeks my bf was on vacation. lol things were so screwed up I never really got on the internet. We had a lot of fun but didn’t really do anything special. then on the 27th of this month was our 5 year anniversary! We haven’t really celebrated yet because he had to work and then… my aunt killed herself a few days ago. Now I wasn’t close to her so that part isn’t really the hard part. the funeral was though. even if you don’t know the person well or care for them its the others that matter and the family is just going to pieces. It was rough. I haven’t really slept in about 32 hours right now. it’s not terrible but I have a morbid feeling that won’t really go away that I always have after funerals. It will wear off eventually but for now it’s awkward. My dad is taking it particularly hard. it’s a hard thing.
On a brighter side, I just finished my first BIG knitting project. I made a poncho for myself! yay! it’s also the first thing that I really made for myself. It is really soft and comfty. It is just “villa” from knitty but it is still satisfying. I have also recently made a knitted cozy for my bf’s new phone and a dice bag for him to use when he plays D&D. Both are knitted with Caron simply soft and in a deep green. he loves them. next up is either a hat for my 14 yo brother or the same for my bf or a snug cowl to wear on cold rides on the motorcycle.
Well, back digging through my very small stash to decide what to do now.
Oh no, I’m so sorry! I understand what you mean though about it being hard because of the survivors. 
I have to go to a funeral tomorrow for a lovely, elderly neighbor who died from lung cancer. This was especially tragic because she never smoked. 
What an awful thing for your family to go through.
It seems devastating and mystifying.
It seems to be family that supports each other through these times.

yeah, craziness. I haven’t been updating this much. I’ll probably dissappear in a few days. School starts on monday! ugh. It’s like a funeral march. lol the death of my knitting and free reading and video game playing and movie watching and forum reading and posting. bleh.
ON the other hand I haven’t had any scarey experiences for about 4 days. (keep fingers crossed for me) but the cops are getting called if anything else happens, i don’t care how silly it will seem.
Also, I’m getting a kitty sometime. the bf has FINALLY approved.

His parents are buying a house in a month and they have offered to HOLD the old one for one [B]whole year[/B] and then [B]help[/B] us get a mortgage to actually[B] buy[/B] it and that whole year we will be helping them FIX it up MORE than was planned and THEN we will move into the house that my bf GREW UP IN and it is beautiful and quite large and just, so, so, so PERFECT! I could shout! I only have to live here ONE YEAR and then will have a HOUSE!

DH and I were married 3 mos before I turned 22 and our 34th anniversary is next month. I won’t make you do the math… I’m 55. :teehee: Anyway, we bought our first house the summer before we got married and it was fun. We lived there for 4 yrs then moved here. You’ll have a lot of fun along with the work.

Oh, I’m am so excited! We are definately going a head on the house! WOOT!
Also, Mr. Kitty comes tomorrow! I haven’t seen much of him yet but he is at my moms and is scared to death of the dogs (two boxer “puppies” as my mom says, lol) and is really a one pet only kind of cat. He needs someone to cuddle up with and a house to “own” of his own. He is that dark blue gray and he has a whilte lions ruff! I’m so excited! I will beat my camera into submission and post pics first thing! Well, It will be about this time tomorrow! Maybe we will vote on names!

Yes, he will be my little indoor baby! I can’t wait! I’m so silly I’m excited about going to get his food and bowls and litter box today! lol He is going to be all set up when he gets here and i’m so excited about it! lol

Ours is an indoor/outdoor cat. It’s great not to have to clean up a litter tray. I seem to be able to keep myself completely occupied without that added task.
Although, he has been at the receiving end of a few tough cats.
Once he was gone for two weeks and we thought that was the last we’d see of him. But amazingly he turned up again, with some fight wounds, and having lost heaps of weight.
I’ve thought about installing a cat run, but DH is not happy to have him caged in.
If it’s a cat that’s used to being indoors, you’ve got an advantage there.

My rag doll Bluebell is an indoor cat. I sprinkle a few drops of concentrate lavender or ylangylang oil in the bottom of the tray before putting the ‘litter’ stuff in. She goes outside only with her cat harness and lead on, much to the neighbours amusement. I cant say she ‘leads’ like a dog, mostly she wanders, chews a bit of grass here and there, or flops down like raggies do and has to be carried back. Do put a picture of kittie on as soon as you can. (And do not have any prized furniture where kittie can sharpen her claws, even with a scratching post BB has wrecked the fronts of the lounge chairs. Kittens are just so lovely.
This is our Sir. Demos! He has gone through several names but I think we settled on this one. lol, I know, It’s silly. But he looks so regal with that white ruff on his neck.
Sir Demos? :?? I get the Sir part, but not the name. :think: He’s beautiful!
Lulubelle, I have a ragdoll, too! Her name is Marshmallow and she’s 17.
LOL, well the whole name comes from a silly adult cartoon that only ran for a little bit and then went off air. It was called Sealab 2021. There is this episode where the captain knights a guy “Sir Demos” and then they go under “martian law” and they run around marrying random people and such. It is silly but I couldn’t stand the idea of Mau’dib. That is what my BF wanted and it comes from the book series “Dune” but Frank Herbert. Suffice it to say, Mau’dib is a prophet of sorts, he comes and leads a ji’had. this ji’had kills 100’s of millions of people and his followers chant his name “Mau’dib, Mau’dib, Mau’dib” it’s so creepy sounding in the movie I just couldn’t do it! He is a cute little kitty! LOL my BF is just weird.
On another note, School started today. My first class didn’t meet because she had “prior obligations”. why scheduels something over the first day of class? lol My other two classes are back to back, same room, same prof and it’s a good thing that she seems really nice!
We will see how my morning class goes tomorrow. 830-1020 sounds pretty terrible to me!
Also, Sir. Demos is settling in. He has toys and he loves to jump in my keyboard and my texting hand and my yarn! lol He also has taken to sleeping on my bf’s chest during the day! rofl. As if he didn’t just sleep with me all night! Wouldn’t it be great to be a kitty?

Sir Demos looks so aristcratic. He is a beautiful colour, and so contented, just look at the face in the middle picture. Aren’t cats so good at making themselves at home.
Yes, he is very much an aristocrat. And such a SNOB. lol, he will ONLY play with yarn toys so far. And sleep on the floor? no way. Couch or bed only. lol He is such a little attention whore too. I swear, he will dance around my feet, even sit on them, if I’m not paying attention to him and he wants it, which is always. lol He also found a lovely new toy in any body part that moves under a blanket. lol, feet especially. My bf came away with a few scratches today. ouch.
Overall he seems to be settled in. Bf wants to declaw him. I don’t want to but, bf says if he tears anything up or keeps scratching at the carpet we have to get them removed when we get him fixed. I really really don’t want to but bf will get rid of him if I don’t go along. it’s very sad. I told him about what they do and he said he won’t have a pet that destroys our stuff or makes us have to pay a fee when we move out. I guess he makes sense but it is very sad.
On another note, second day of class today. I am really fired up about one of them. The book we started reading on teaching reading is very inspiring and fascinating, not dry and theory filled. lol You would be surprised how many theories about how to read, how to teach reading, how to learn reading, and such, are out there. It is amazing.
