Ok, so I have given up on the Hanging Garden Lace Stole.

I’ve done countless feather and fan, and even managed a Branching Out in MOHAIR but this thing, it’s KILLING me.

I’m so sad.

Did you try using a lifeline?

Tip, if it’s not too late: …If you’ve got Boye or Denise interchangeable needles, you can thread dental floss into the little hole at the base of the needle, and work in the lifeline as you knit. Nice and fast. (Lifeline is a strand you leave there as an aid if you need to frog, you can get the work back onto the needle by inserting the needle along the course of the lifeline.)

I feel your frustration. I’ve put aside a fairly simple shrug pattern because I couldn’t get passed about 5 inches on the sleeve. Knit 2 rows; rip 1. Amy’s lifeline is good idea. The dental floss works great and if you don’t have the interchangeables, it goes through your stitches really easily.

That is so frustrating! I feel for you. Maybe just put it aside for a while. Sometimes you come back to it and just knit along like you never had a problem. That has happened to me before.

Fine lace and beads? What’s so hard? :rofling:

When you’re ready to face it again, try making a small one–dishcloth size–just to practice the pattern. After a while, you’ll get it! I have faith!

I wasn’t even TRYING for the beads. :roflhard:

I think it may have something to do with the slipping of the stitches because by row 20, I have about five or six extra stitches on the needle.

I"ve marked the pattern repeats with stitch markers, used a lifeline, pulled out all of my tools and widgets and I think it’s just got me beat.
