How do you use a swifter? Is it a necessity to have a ball winder?

I use someone else’s hands, or my own knees (not very ladylike, but it works!) to hold up the yarn. I wind the ball by hand. I really enjoy winding balls.

Thanks Amy. I actually dislike using the methods you talked about, so am curious about swifters…do you need a ball winder or can you just use one by itself? Is it faster with a ball winder?
