I was wondering because I have this idea to make Lucie from Knitty using the Sweater Wizard to resize it using the yarn I want in my own measurements. Anyway the yarn I want is Colinette Cadenza a new yarn on the market - its 100% merino and the Tension/gauge is 28 sts and 22 rows to 10cms (4 inches) on 4mm needles with 118 metres (124 yards) per 50g skein.
I put in the measurements and the yarn details using a size 6 needle of 5.5 rows per inch and 7 stitches per inch. The software won’t let me put that in - it keeps telling me that I can’t have less rows and stitches.
I’m not sure…but I’m told that the Sweater Wizard support is awesome. They have a Yahoo Group (the people who designed the software post and answer questions there) and you can e-mail them questions too.
Just wondering what color…I think the colinette colorway is the most beautiful variegated yarn I have EVER seen. I want to make a sweater with that color but I am going to finish with some other projects before investing in the colinette.
It will set me back in the region of £56 for the yarn I need but its around the same as the yarn for Lucie anyway I guess. I just can’t bear silk because it has a distinct smell that drives me mad or I’d use the yarn that lucie was made in!
Edit: Also have now joined and asked the sweater wizard group on yahoo =D
