Hi all!
I am about to embark on my first real garment where size matters–I’ve previously only made purses, hats, scarves, and shawls.
I am going to knit the Doreen sweater from Berroco http://www.berroco.com/exclusives/doreen/doreen.html.
I am wondering what size I should do? It says it is meant to be slightly loose fitting. I am a pretty petite person–I normally wear a small or size 3. Measuring my bust around the fullest part I get about 34 inches.
So my question is, do I knit the x-small or the small sweater? The x-small has a finished bust size of 36 inches, while the small has 40. Would the x-small be too tight, or would the small be too baggy?
I like how it looks on the model, but I am totally clueless as to how to guess what size to make. They say she is wearing a medium, but she looks pretty tiny to me! I just dont’ want to be swimming in this sweater or have it be uncomfortably tight. I would also like to avoid having to frog if I find out I made the wrong choice.
