I am knitting a sweater

&&I’m not sure if I understand it correctly

"Cast on 43 (47, 51, 55, 59) sts.
Working back and forth on circular needle, as if working on straight needles, work 5 rows in Seed st.
Change to St st (k on RS, p on WS) and work until piece measures 4 1/2 (5 1/2, 6 1/2, 7 1/4, 9 1/4) in. (11.5 (14, 16.5, 18.5, 23.5) cm) from beg, end with a WS row.
Shape Armhole
Bind off 3 sts at beg of next 2 rows - 37 (41, 45, 49, 53) sts. Place sts on a holder. "

"LEFT FRONT
Cast on 25 (27, 29, 31, 33) sts.
Working back and forth on circular needle, as if working on straight needles, work 5 rows in Seed st.
Next Row (RS): K to last 4 sts, place marker, work last 4 sts in Seed st as established for front band.
Next Row: Work in Seed st to marker, p to end of row.
Continue as established, keeping 4 sts in Seed st for front band and remaining sts in St st, until piece measures 4 1/2 (5 1/2, 6 1/2, 7 1/4, 9 1/4) in. (11.5 (14, 16.5, 18.5, 23.5) cm) from beg, end with a WS row.
Shape Armhole
Bind off 3 sts at beg of next row - 22 (24, 26, 28, 30) sts.
Next Row: Purl. Place sts on a holder. "

When I am binding off for the shaping, do I continue in St st?

&&When it says "work last 4 sts in Seed st as established for front band"
What the heck does that mean exactly?

In my opinion, I’m pretty sure that when you’re binding off for the arm shaping, you’d have to continue in stockinette stitching

And for the “front band” thingy, I’d say just ignore the “for front band part” and just go on with seed stitches o.o (You would probably need a second opinion with that, but once you get to actually knitting it, you’d probably know if I’m wrong xD)

heh
I’m thinkin the same thing,
but I wasn’t sure if it wasn’t some sweater code that i’m just not up on

It’s just saying to continue in seed st on the edge stitches for the front band. Otherwise, yes, after the BO keep knitting in stockinette.
