Sweater pattern help

Hey everyone!

I’m a self taught knitter and I decided to take it up a notch and try making sweater. Its a Rowan pattern, so it uses UK terms.

I’ve gotten pretty far, but now I need help on decreasing.

Here’s part of the pattern:
Row 1 (RS): K1. *S1, K1, psso, (yfwd) twice, K2tog, rep from * to last st, K1.
Row 2: P2, *(P1,K1) into double yfwd of previous row, P2, rep form * to end. [106 sts]

Row 1 and 2 Form patt
.
.
.
Keeping patt correct, dec 1 st at each end of next and 2 foll 10th rows, then on 2 foll 8th rows, then on 3 foll 6th rows. [90 sts]

So my question is, after dec on the first row do I work out 10 rows following the pattern then dec 2 sts at each end?

Thanks for your help!!

As it appears I’m the “first responder on scene,” let me take a stab at this for you:

>> Keeping patt correct, dec 1 st at each end of next and 2 foll 10th rows, then on 2 foll 8th rows, then on 3 foll 6th rows.

Step by step:

 1. Decrease 1 st at each end of next and 2 following 10th rows: This means decrease 1 st at the beginning and the end of the next row, the 10th row after that (“Row 11,” or whatever its number is), and the 10th row after that one (“Row 21,” or its equivalent). These three reductions will result in a stitch count of 100.

 2. Then on 2 following 8th rows: Keeping the row count going from what I’ve hypothesized, decrease 1 st at the beginning and the end of Rows 29 and 37. These two reductions will bring the stitch count down to 96.

3) Then on 3 following 6th rows: Decrease 1 st at the beginning and the end of Rows 43, 49, and 55. These last three reductions will produce the pattern’s stated stitch count of 90.

Does that help?
