I am going to be making a couple bolero style sweaters and they are knit in stockinette st throughout. I don’t want the sweater edges to roll and am not sure blocking will take care of the problem so am considering putting an edging of some kind around the bottom of the sleeves, the bottom of the sweater and up the front sides which are open. My question is this, will the sweater bolero shape come out right if I put the increases for the bolero shaping in each row after I knit the edging stitches instead of doing the increase in the edging? Thanks for your help!
I can’t tell you for sure, but I don’t see why you couldn’t do that. It would be like knitting the bolero first, then picking up stitches and adding an edging, except you’ll be adding the edging as you go.
Thanks, Rosey. I thought it would work, but I wanted some extra opinions.
