I took a look in the steek thread but it isn’t clear to me if sewn or crocheted steeks would be best. The yarn is merino superwash worsted at 5 1/2 stitches per inch. I am hoping that crocheted would be good for more flexibility, but if I have to I can machine sew it. Have any of you used crocheted steeks with superwash?
Superwash steeks
Hi!
I just used a crocheted steek (my first steek ever!! hehe) using
a 50/50 wool/acrylic blend yarn and it held fine. It was just for
a pillow though so not like it will be getting alot of stretching or
pulling on it so not sure how well it would work for somethign that
will be getting pulled on alot. I learned about the different steeks
on Eunny Jang’s blog.
I’m sure there are some more knowledgeable knitters on here who can
offer a more in depth opinion!

I made a Norwegian sweater with superwash. I sewed the steeks and they’ve held up just fine through many washings and wearings. I’m sure crocheted steeks would hold up just as well.
