Hi all,
Sharing a photo of the shawl I knitted! It uses a “feather and fan” design (which I’m finding out I really love). The yarn is also a fun self-striping pattern, plus a lighter weight for a nice soft summery feel.
Thanks for taking a look!

That’s beautiful!
Very pretty! Love the colors.
What kind of yarn did you use? I’m not sure I’d ever need a summer shawl in Texas, but it might work for a spring or fall shawl.
Lovely!
This is beautiful! Can you post a link to the pattern please, or is it in a book? Thanks for sharing!!
Really nice!
Feather and fan is such fun to knit and so pretty. You summer shawl is a perfect example, light and lovely. Enjoy wearing it!
It is so pretty and I love the color of the yarn. You did a wonderful job.
Happy to share the website! Feather and Fan Scarf
It’s a little further than half-way down the page, and even though a few of her patterns are for sale, this one’s free. (The pattern is also on Ravelry.) She made a scarf, but for a shawl, I cast on 76 stitches and made it longer.
Antares, the yarn I used was JoAnn’s Sensations “Breeze”, weight category 3. It only took one skein (595 yds).
Enjoy!
The yarn variations really played nice with the feather-fan pattern stitch! Great work!
It’s beautiful! I like the feather and fan pattern, too. Those colors are so pretty together!
Gorgeous! :yay:
This is so pretty. I want to try this stitch now!
Beautiful!! I love, love, love the colors!
Simply beautiful. Great combination of pattern, yarn - and skilful knitting of course :cheering: .
Thank you so much for sharing - this will go on my ‘to do’-list.
This is so beautiful! I find myself mesmerized, imagining a picture perfect Caribbean vacation.
