Summer tank with V-neck

V-necks are so much more flattering on me than rounded or scoop neck…actaully they are more slimming on most people…has anyone found a good tank that has a v-neck…the only one I have found in my searching is one that is done in the round and I prefer to knit front an back separately.

I have looked at both of those…my body just won’t do for the 2nd and I really like the first but wanted the tank to be plain so I guess I could use the directions for shaping the neck etc and just make the patterned part at the bottom plain…

I think this is probably knit in the round, but it looks nice: http://www.chicknits.com/catalog/ribbyshell.html . I was thinking of doing it myself.

May I ask why it is you don’t want to knit in the round?? No offense really, I just find it so much easier and love the thought of a seamless garment.

Knitqueen…
I have been working in the round on several projects lately and just wanted to do something a little different…

But I really like the pattern you found and I am going to make it even if it is in the round because it is exactly what I was looking for…Thank you, thank you, thank you

I think that it would be just as easy to divide the pattern “in the round” in half and do it front/back instead of on circulars.

The only thing I’m NOT liking so far on the tank I’m making, is that it has a 4 row garter stitch border around the bottom, and because it’s in the round there is a little jog where the garter stitch ends and the stockinette stitch starts. BUT it will be on the bottom of the side and I’m sure no one will notice but me!!

:XX:

Oh, I love all of these patterns!! The two from Knitty are definitely enticing, and are motivating me to keep working on losing these extra lbs around the middle! (Ugh!)

I like first of the Knitty tanks and my do it. I like wearing tanks with a short sleeve shirt as a jacket.

knitty.com has a really cute vneck call "W"
I’m knitting it right now and it is really fun and easy.
