No I didn’t make the handle. I bought it and my ‘weight’ rock at my LYS. I used nylon line to attach the rock.

In the original pattern, which I really do like, just not sure if that ruffle was for me, (it felt so ‘young’) I think it calls for a K2tog all across at the flap. I only decreased the sides twice on either side, total of four stitches. So that I would know where to fold and seam, also I wanted a nice notch for my handles to be attached to.

I also used a slip/knit stitch throughout instead of just a garter because I thought it would be a ‘classier’ look, and that stitch goes soooo dern Fast!

Do Over would be to increase the depth of it. It is true to the six inch in the pattern and I think at least an eight inch if not more would work better for the width of it, which somehow is longer than the pattern. :smiley:

It actually says K3tog, K1 across. Just so I understand you (because I love your modification…not into the ruffle either) you only decreased twice (meaning k2tog once on one side for two rows?)

does that mean you slipped one, k1, slip one k1 all across?

That is correct sort of. I decreased (k2tog) on Both sides for two rows.

Slip/Knit Stitch~

Row 1: With yarn in front, Slip 1, pass yarn to back, K1. Slip 1, K1 until end (always knit last stitch in row). Turn sock around.
Row 2: With yarn in front, Slip 1, pass yarn to back, Knit remaining stitches (don’t purl).

I did slip the first stitch on every turnaround just because I love the loopy sort of end it gives, intended for a gusset pickup, but nevertheless I thought it was cool.
Keep in mind when doing this stitch, that you should have an even number of stitches that when divided in half make an odd number. 58 CO is 29. Somehow or other it works out. :wink:

I also used 6.5mm ~ 10 1/2 needles for this project.
