I made this ear warmer headband a year ago and it is very warm. I had a very rustic yarn, worsted or Aran weight held double for the body. I always meant to go back and add something to make it a little more interesting, embroidery or something else decorative but simple. The stitches are large and the vertical space is very small. I could duplicate stitch I guess but it is already a very thick fabric, not sure I want to add bulk. Open to your suggestions!!

Suggestions- to decorate a plain headband
That looks so warm and cozy. How about something that would pin on? You might find something you already have and love but maybe don’t wear often. If you did that you could change it whenever you want.

I don’t know how to do beads and I thought of buttons but I wanted something soft tbh. I think I will do embroidered flowers once I’m done using it this season. I was so fixated on doing a wintry theme, but I think I’d like flowers better. Maybe daisies? Now I just need to learn to embroider…

I think you’ll need duplicate stitch but there might be other methods. I’d look for links but it seems you’re not ready to work on it yet. If you need more help let us know.
