Suffies Pattern Question

I got this adorable pattern off of a website. I can’t for the life of me get the second row right!

I have 10 sts. on my needles, and have done the increases and knitting as the pattern calls. When I finish the row I have either 16 sts. or an extra st. that I can’t figure why to either of the outcomes. Could someone give me a reason why I may be getting this wrong or if the pattern is incorrect?

Thanks!

Jenny

From what I see, if you use a kfb where it says ‘inc 1’, you will arrive at the right number of stitches.

Rnd 2 says to (inc 1, K2, inc 1, K1) twice. By doing this you are increasing your total stitch count by 4. This gives you the correct number of stitches at the end of that round - 14.

I don’t know where you got 16 from…

The problem was that I was casting one on to create an increase. I guess if I do the kfb that will take care of the problem?

Kfb uses one of the stitches, so it works out.
