I, making a vintage coat and have back finished. I started on front right but the math is wrong and I am stuck because there is many rows of instructions they assume you would know. The pattern is at tudorlinks.com/treasury/worktable/1918kcoat.html. I understand row 17th and repeats but I end up with 110 stitches and pattern says y I should have a 100 and 56 rows done. I have the 56rows. Then it proceeds to explain the buttonholes and where to make them. I understand that. My question is where they say then work *a decreased row and seven rows of pattern, and repeat from * until the stitches are 99 on the needle, and 136 rows above the 6th buttonhole. You would only have 88 rows more and that is not 136 rows above the pattern. Please could someone take a look at the sight and read the pattern and help me. Stuck after the repeats of row 17 and then it jumps to 196th row. Should i continue is pattern after I do the decreases to 99 stitches until I get 136 rows above the 6th button hole. i hope this makes sense. You have to read pattern to understand. Any help would be appreciated. I am making this for my granddaughter.

Stuck on pattern
Okay, the pattern reads like this -
"17th Row - First decrease - Work according to the first row of the pattern and k2 tog at the end.
Work 9 rows of pattern.
Repeat from the 17th row 3 times, but half-way between the second and third repeat - i.e., at the 41st row - make the first buttonhole as directed below.
The stitches will now be reduced to 100 on the needle; 56 rows done."
You’re going from 114 to 100, decreasing 14 sts. The first time you do row 17, decs 1 st, then you supposedly do it 3 more times. I think that’s a typo and should read 13 times.
