I am stuck. I can’t tell how I should line up my armhole shaping that is to get worked at the same time as the neckline. Any help would be appreciated.
jWelcome!
Yes, both are worked at the same time. Which size are you making and what is the name of the pattern?
Salmonmac, Thank you!
I am making the XL size cardigan call “Hidden Light” by Nadya Stallings, purchased on Ravely.
I understand that the shaping gets worked at the same time. My question is, am I bouncing back and forth, lining up both sets of instructions I posted?
I am having difficulty because, as I am reading it, if I am indeed lining up the two sections, I keep landing of two different RS row decreases at the same time. So it is throwing me off.
OK, two things. Is the XL the 6th, 7th, 8th size? The scan seems to have cut off the pattern numbers at the edges. Can you post another that includes the right edge on this column?
Wonderful, thank you.
There’s not so much overlap as I read it.
For the combined shaping call the next row, row 1.
row 1 work in pattern
row 2 (WS) bind off 5sts beginning of the row
row 4 bind of 3sts beginning of the row
row 6 bind off 2 sts beginning of the row
row 7 (RS) at the beginning of the row, slip 1, ssk and at the end of the row, k2tog, p1
row 9 at the end of the row, k2tog, p1
row 11 at the end of the row, k2tog, p1
From here on all the shaping is in the neckline. Decrease by slip 1, ssk at the beginning of the RS rows: 13,19,25,31,37 and 43 then on rows 47,51,55,59,63,and 67. Bind off on row 68.
Oh my goodness! No, thank you! That is SUPER helpful.
That was incredibly kind of you.
