Struggling with Knitting Pattern

I am following a pattern for an aran sweater. There is 16 rows which I have been able to do. Within those rows there are parts of it with astericks which I know usually means some kind of repeating.
After those rows it says:
“From 1st to 16th row sets double moss-st and patt panel. Keeping continuity of patt as set (throughout) cont until back measures 44cm”
Am I just doing the double moss-st and that is continuing the pattern from above or am I doing a double moss-st then repeating rows 1-16.

I am also confused why some of the rows have astericks dispersed without going back to them or explaining them.

I would really appreciate the help.

Welcome to the forum. What pattern are you using and who is the designer? I would expect that you’re working something, perhaps cables, between the asterisks and those would need to continue uninterrupted. Knowing what pattern you’re using, even if it’s paid and we can only look at a photo, would be helpful.

Here it is!

Welcome to KH!
What is the name and designer for your pattern?
Repeating rows 1-16 will give you moss stitch at each edge and the pattern panels. Are there any other moss stitches for these row outside rows 1-16?

The name is Classic Men Women’s Aran Sweaters Vintage Knitting Pattern PDF Aran Worsted Boy Girl Family Jumper Pullover and the designer is HeirloomKnitPatterns.

Beautiful patterns!
