Striped I cord

Is it possible to do I cord with stripes in it. I’m making a booga bag with random stripes and I wanted to do that with the I cord. I don’t want to have a lot of ends to weave in. Would it show really bad if I just draged them up the side?

I’ve never done a striped I cord, but I guess you could just carry the yarn up the side, I don’t think it would show too much. I’ll give it a try and then let you know!

I just tried it, and it is actually pretty noticable. My guess would be either to stop and tie off with each color, or if your using only two colors for the stripes, then you can do an I-cord of each and then you can twist the two together. Hope that helps

Thanks for trying, I wonder if you tied knots to join the new color would they just felt away or would the still be noticable? :??

why not keep the tail ends longer and running throgh the middle, then you can tension it by pulling the tails
then they will felt and firm up the chord in the end

When I use stripes in the body of the bag, I cut the yarn when I do a color change and then knot the two different color strands together. The knots do not show when I felt it.
