Is it possible or recommended to remove the beginning section of a completed afghan and reknit it without doing the whole afghan over? The beginning stripe is slightly longer than the ending stripe although the stitch count is the same. I still have to crochet a border. The afghan is done in Stockinette stitch with acrylic yarn.
Striped afghan
It would be easier to make the ending stripe longer.
But. . . if you want to reknit the beginning, you probably should run a lifeline through your stitches first, or use your needle to do so, so you don’t unravel too much. You’ll probably have to cut the cast on, but then you can knit and bind off. Then two bound off ends will match, and that’s a nice thing.
