Yet another yarn question…
So, I’m looking at some sock yarn here , and the description reads “100 yds relaxed or 186 yds stretched/ 50 gram ball.”
Um…I don’t know what that means. I mean I do know the difference between stretched and relaxed yarn, but, I’m confused. If I’m making socks, won’t I knit with the yarn relaxed? Or not? I just don’t know how much yarn to order, and now I’m not quite sure how I’m supposed to knit with it (mostly relaxed, mostly stretched…?).

I have never, ever seen measurements like that. My guess that this yarn’s claim to fame is it’s stretchiness.

It might be really good for socks for people whose feet swell. A lot. :roflhard:

Unbidden mental image there…one that will stay with me for the rest of my life!
I am eight weeks postpartum and really could have used that yarn for socks toward the end!
