Strange stitch

I have a pattern for a sampler afghan. One of the stitches is described as follows:

K, P, K, P, K…all in same stitch, turn, p5, turn, k5, turn, p5, pass 1, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th sts over the 5th st.

My question is for the part in bold. Are they all done in the front of the loop? This is a pattern for a bobble stitch.
Thanks so much.

I would do them all in the front of the loop. It’ll be crowded, but they don’t mention using the back loop in the directions.

Are you working on the Great American Aran Afghan by chance?

I am knitting an afghan using the Leisure Arts 60 Easy-To-Knit Pattern Stitches book. Since I am very new to knitting this will probably take me the rest of my natural born life.

Thanks everyone for the help. I think I will have to practice that stitch several times before I actually make the square. :XX:

Hey, I have that book too!
