stitching help

Hello, I’m making a pillow case, and i plan to do this by making a long strip. Then stitching all of the edges together. I’m not sure how i do this. I have a tapestry needle and the wool I need but I don’t want the actual stitches to look messy. Does anyone know how to do it properly?

Mattress stitch is a nice way to work seams and is handy in all sorts of projects.

Hi
This is the same stitch but shown in heaps of photos with text description. I found it really helpful as I could go through it slowly and really compare the photo to my work. It’s magical!
