I’m hoping someone can assist in identifying the stitch in the attached photo. I’m in the process of reverse engineering a sample I have.
Thanks!
Welcome to KH!
I’m not sure how raised the bumps on the sample are but it might be a variation on blackberry or raspberry stitch? (This is all making me wish berries were in season.)
Thanks salmonmac. Raspberry stitch is very close. The bumps on my sample are not as raised and are larger (5 stitches) than the tradititional raspberry stitch. I’m thinking maybe by using bulky wool and a large needle, I can re-create the openwork in between the rows
I was viewing stitch patterns in Barbara Walker’s Second Treasury and I remembered your post. I think it may be the one you are looking for.
omg! It is!
Pine Burr is definitely the one.
Not quite bobble, not quite blackberry or raspberry stitch, is raised and chunky but has open lacework in between…
I couldn’t be happier. The knitting community really is awesome. Thank you so much claireweber for sending me the url.
