Stitch Markers

I’ve basically learned how to knit by KH. (thanks Amy!!!) so I don’t have any “formal” teaching, but I’m seeing patterns with stitch markers (the little circles) what is their purpose? What do they do? I don’t get it!

Stitch markers kind of work like a place marker, that’s all. It’s a reminder to switch your stitch pattern, or marks where you need to increase or decrease in a pattern. When you knit in the round, you keep a stitch marker at the start of the round so you know where the round ends.

It’s just an easy way to save a whole lot of counting!

I recently bought at my LYS some pretty stitch markers made of beads. They are really beautiful and could be a pretty pair of dangle earrings!! lol

I have enjoyed using those on my Entrelac bag that I’m currently working. They have helped me keep my place of where NOT to knit on that pattern. :XX: :XX:
