Stitch count query on flat knit sweater.

I’m making the garter stitch jumper by Sarah Tweed (Jytte Slente Nr 2447BC). I’m making the larger size.

I’m confused about the stitch count and wondering if there’s a typo or if I’m missing something.

I’m increasing the stitches on the sleeve, one at the beginning of each row until there are 152 stitches. Then I’m to increase by 34 stitches either side, which would give me 220 stitches.

The bit that’s confusing me is when it comes to splitting it for the neck. It says to knit the first 107 stitches, k2tog, k2. This would make a total of 111 stitches, not 110, which would be half of 220.

What do you think I should do? Knit 106? Increase by 35 stitches? I’ve attached a screenshot of the part that I’m stuck at.

(ETA the link).

Thanks for the pattern information. The difference between front and back at the neck is probably part of the neck shaping. You could go with the stitch numbers as given.

Do you know what? I hadn’t even thought of that, nor have I read further to see if the front and back differ slightly. You genius!

Oh, I’ve just done sweaters like this before. Interesting to knit cuff to cuff.

It’s certainly different.
