I found this pattern, quite similar to what I’m working on for my GD to go over ballet pointe shoes. http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/70668AD.html I didn’t know what they were called and gave up on a pattern and went with a toeless, heeless sock, no pattern, now I’ve come across this. My question: the pattern says to go around the heel opening w/single crochet. I was thinking about this and wondering if there is a better way, thought about alternating sc and ss, thought about pick up and knit a couple rows. I’m using worsted weight acrylic yarn. I’ve worked from the toe to above the anke in ribbing on the first one. Maybe a row of sc is best. Suggestions? Comments?
Another question: After I bind off 1/2 the stitches for the heel opening, which cast on would you recommend? I used the knitting on method for the one that I’ve actually gotten that far on.
I just realized another consideration. The heel needs to stay in place, maybe sc would be good for that.
I find myself wanting the knowledge and benefit of experience w/o going through the experience part. :noway: :noway:
