I’m making my first hat. I have found lots of information on how to actually sew the seam in, but I don’t understand how to start it. Is it a continuation of what you’ve already knitted? or do you knot the end before weaving in the seam? Please help… I’m desperate!

It is a continuation…so you have to like predetermine how much yarn it will take to sew it. You have to cut the yarn when you have enough.
More is always better.
