hello ladies and gentleman,
iam a knitting newbie and want to try to knit and understand how is it possible to create an starshaped blanket. I think its called a chevron pattern ( Zigzag) In the round ,i have seen there its possible 12 or 16 points. A yo-k1-yo and the sl1-k1-psso for chevron but its shall to be lay flat and iam still confusing -how often the increase ? Is there maybe a solution ?Or if it to complex- a knitting star with a chart ( Yes i need charts
So thnks forwards

ps. i have knitted a revontuli and jes maybe iam blind but is this possible to double them to create a star ?
Welcome to Knitting Help!
One of the easiest ways to understand these blankets is to knit one. The shape comes from the combination of decreases (k2tog and ssk) and increases (m1 and yo). Hereโs one pattern.
After a few repeats, the reason for the pattern stitches becomes clear and I think you can then adapt it as you wish.
A revontuli gives you a good idea of the pattern, too.
And if you think of a star shaped blanket as a star shaped round shawl, you might find that figuring out how often to do increase rows vs knit rows will likely follow a pi shawl methodology. Great article here with inc rnds spelled out.
