Ssk?

I am working on a pattern that says this—Row 11 P2 k1,yo,ssk,p2;rep from to end—my question is this…the ssk…slip, slip, knit…I am supposed to slip each stitch seperately? As if to knit? and then somehow actually knit the 2 together? Is it possible to explain this differently so that I may be able to understand it? Thank you.

Slip each stitch separately as to knit. They’ll now be on your right needle. Insert your left needle through the front of the two stitches that are on the right needle and then knit them together.
