Square basket, felted or not

Ok. I’ve got these great endtables with a shelf on the bottom. I would love to knit a square basket (think those expensive square canvas things) to hold knitting, toys, whatever I feel like. I KNOW I’ve seen a pattern somewhere, but I have no idea where it is now. Does anybody know right off the top of their heads? I was thinking twine or hemp or something like that, or even in wool so I can felt it.

Thanks so much everyone for great ideas and help!

There’s a pattern for nesting felted boxes on page 57 of Mason-Dixon Knitting. They’re very cool

thanks! I’m going to check it out!

Thank you so much Julie for telling me about that book! It’s got some great projects in it that remind me of home! Those baskets will work great…we’ll see how they knit up in jute!

Went to Home Depot yesterday. Its a treasure trove for a knitter! they’ve got cotton cording that looks sturdier than any yarn I’ve seen, and dowels to make needles in every size, even in different woods! Oh, if I was only a rich girl!

 LOL, I love Home Depot

Glad I could help! I was sooo surprised to find that book at my local library, as they don’t have very many knitting books.
