Hi all I have started and frogged a pair of socks from the Socks Soar book 2X :hair: The sock pattern is Columbine Peaks, and is a very basic lace pattern using YO’s. the problem I am having is that a YO falls at the end of each circ needle (i.e. I end with a yarn over and then need to switch over to the other circ needle). Is there a trick to ending a “row” with a YO? Both attempts, I end up short a stitch or two, and I’m sure it is the YO at the end of one needle that is somehow not staying in place :??
when i have a problem like that with 2 circ knitting i just move the knitting around so that the YO is a stitch or two in from the end of the needle. your work doesn’t have to be “even” on there so you can have 22 stitches on one needle and 24 on another if you need to.
haven’t made those socks but hopefully it will help some.
I love working socks on 2 circs. the socks i’m working on now require a couple of YOs at the end of a circ.
Here’s what I do.
When I get to the last stitch, i just leave the yarn there as normal. then i switch needles (like normal). as i’m grabbing the yarn to start working my new needle, i do the yarn over on the back needle.
that way i know that the YO is there and that i haven’t dropped it somewhere.
