I’m saving up for a couple of sock books, but in the meantime, I can’t seem to find cute sock patterns that aren’t plain stockinette, and using fingering weight, for my 4-year-old DD. She wants socks like the ones I made for me (Rhombus, Zombie (on Ravelry only), Diamante) but in her size, and I can’t really find any, except examples that come from books (which I can’t buy right away).
I think maybe I’m just not thinking of right search terms. At least not using sock yarn. I’ve seen a few but all with worsted or DK weight yarn. Anyone have any they’ve seen?
Did you check Ravelry? I found several which I’ll link to. If you know the mechanics of socks you really don’t need a pattern beyond the basics if you need one at all. You just need to cast on the multiple of whatever the pattern stitch is and go for it.

Couple basic ones here you can do whatever pattern with -
I’m hopeless at adding or removing repeats to make a pattern. The only couple times I tried, it was an unmitigated disaster. Really. I’m going to examine the links you gave me further and see if I can figure something out. Thanks.
If it gives you a multiple of X just subtract by those increments. You can ask here in KH and someone surely can help you out, too.
I’ll keep that in mind. Thanks!
Wenda, I made my younger granddaughter some Monkey socks (from knitty.com) using sock yarn and size 0 needle. They fit her fine! She was about 4 when I made them for her.
These are the socks when they were in progress:
This is how they looked on her feet:
