Socks aren't so bad

If you actually work on them.
In the last 2-3 weeks I will have finished a pair of socks similar to the pair I worked on all summer.

I don’t especially like ribbing so I put it off (this time I accidentally did 2x2 instead of 1x1 and I think that helped). I like tall socks to keep my legs warm and dread the long boring leg and put it off. I dread the flap (I double knit so the purl side is a pain in my hand) so I put it off. The only part that goes fast is the gusset to finish.

Who knew if I didn’t work so hard at not working on them they could be done so fast.

I think I might be an automatic sock knitter by my next pair. I hardly had to consult a pattern to turn the heel this time.

Hey Mike. I have made so many socks that I know just where I am and don’t have to look at the pattern anymore. It is just kind of relaxing now. I agree though about the ribbing. I use the 2 X 2 ribbing.

I have a fanatic addiction to knitting socks. I’ve made about 30 pair in the last year. I’ve given them as gifts and I have a drawer full. I have new sock yarn calling to me right now and have 2 potential patterns set aside. I’m forcing myself to continue on my shawl, the Print O’ The Wave Pattern by Eunny Jang. I’m really enjoying it as well, but will never be as mindless and pleasurable as a sock.

Shhhhh…don’t tell everyone, Mike…they’ll buy up all the sock yarn…

hmmm, I can’t imagine being an automatic sock knitter, lol!! Sounds too good to be true :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s nice to know there is hope, though!! :teehee: just keep knitting, just keep knitting, repeat! got it
