i have no affiliation other than i signed up to knit this girl some socks. there is a deadline written (11/30), but really, late socks are still great!
Basicly you knit a pair of socks to be sent to this girl who is sick. she loves handknit socks, and her friend posted on ravelry the following:
Between having too much time on my hands, worrying terribly about a dear friend of mine, and wading through my stash in anticipation of Socktoberfest, I’ve hatched an idea.
You see, my friend's 17-year old daughter has a pretty nasty illness. They live some distance from me, and I'm feeling pretty helpless, unable to really do anything for her or her family. But I did hit on something. The daughter has a weakness: SOCKS.
I've knit her a few pairs, but I'm a damn slow knitter. Could I appeal to you to join the knitalong I'm hosting and contribute a pair of socks?
There will be prizes for participants… AND my heartfelt appreciation.
