Sock question

So I’m done with the heel, heel turn and gusset shaping (yaaaay!). I still have half the amount of stitches on needle 2, and one quarter on needles 1 and 3. Now that I’m just doing the foot stitches, all stockinette, and I was wondering:

Would if mess up the pattern if I split the instep stitches onto needles 1 and 3? I’m thinking it would. With having so many on needle 2 (they’re size 0s), it’s a bit of a hassle without them falling off.

Thanks.

You shouldn’t have a problem at all. Just remember to mark the beginning and end of your instep stitches so that you will be able to decrease in the correct places for the toe. If you have a fifth dpn, you can continue knitting the sock by splitting the instep stitches between two needles. I prefer using four needles, knitting with the fifth, because it puts less stress on each of the corners, in my opinion. Good luck.

Oh thank god. Easy enough to mark them and this will save me the headache of saving my Geronimo stitches.

Much appreciated!
