Sock question

I have messed around with socks a little, did the silver tutorial to complete one. I was just wondering, has anyone ever tried japanese short row technique instead of w&t for a short row heel? Wouldn’t that help make it look nicer without holes? Or am I overthinking this?

I think that the Japanese short rows are actually just a variation of your regular wrap and turn. The fact that you have a safety pin attached to the working yarn makes is MUCH easier to know which loop to pick up and knit with the regular stitch, but I think it’s the same as picking up the “wrap” part of the w&t. I could be wrong though. Personally, I love the Japanese short rows in general. I think it is so much easier to manage and I’m sure it would work great for a sock heel, though I haven’t tried it myself.
