This is actually a felted wine sock, but I don’t think that matters. Pattern says cast on 45 stitches on dpns. OK with that. But instructions for rounds 1 and 2 confuse me.
I can’t improve on the advice above. The pattern looks like they sort of converted a flat knit to knit in the round but didn’t quite get it right. :shrug: Have fun knitting your wine sock and don’t let one poorly written pattern put you off.
Just be aware–so you don’t undo your perfectly good knitting, thinking you made an error–that using the knit stitch on every round on DPNs or via any circular method will yield stockinette stitch (“stocking stitch,” to those more familiar with British knitting terms).
If you want garter stitch on circs, use alternating rounds of knit st and purl st. Stitch markers will help you keep your place.
