Hi there guys. So really enjoying my new found hobby of knitting socks. Am sticking with toe up method for a while and using the magic loop. However is there any way I can avoid the widened stitch at the beginning and end of each row as show in the pictures. I think it’s probably termed as a ladder but I pull up the first stitch really tight in the hope of avoiding this. Very frustrated😡

There are a couple of recommendations in this video but the first one is one I have often heard. Don’t pull the yarn too tightly. It seems contradictory and it doesn’t make sense but it seems to work. Another thing to do is to move the division for magic loop to different places in your knitting. That may mean putting in markers if you need them rather than using the split as a marker.
