Sock Help, Beginner

I am following a sock class online and am getting stuck.
“Row 1 (on the right side of your work): Slip 1, Knit 1 Repeat between * across, turn work. (32 24 20 stitches)
Row 2 (wrong side): Slip one, purl across. (Slip ONLY the first stitch, purl the rest including the slipped stitches from row 1.)”
What does Purl Across mean??

That just means purl each stitch in the rest of the row (after you slip the first stitch). Think of it as “purl across the rest of the row.”

You are working on the heel flap so you’re turning just the heel flap stitches and working both sides flat. On the public side (or outside) you sl,k1 across, then you turn. S1 and just purl the rest of the stitches. Turn again and sl1, k1 across. When it’s long enough per your instructions you’ll do something else.
